What we do
Safe Kids, Walk this Way

History
The Walk This Way program was created by Safe Kids Worldwide and FedEx in 1999. More than one million students worldwide and thousands of schools in Brazil, Canada, China, India, Korea, The Philippines, and the United States have participated in the program. Walk This Way is a multifaceted initiative that combines the following components:
- School-based education
- Safety task forces
- Environmental improvements to school traffic areas
- Law enforcement
- Research
FedEx, the exclusive corporate sponsor of the Safe Kids Walk This Way program, provides safety expertise and assists in collecting research data to document the problems faced by child pedestrians. FedEx volunteers conduct classroom education, escort children to and from school on International Walk to School Day, and serve on school-based pedestrian safety committees.
The Asia Injury Prevention Foundation is the latest addition to the Walk This Way family. In the capacity of Safe Kids Vietnam, AIP Foundation has implemented Safe Kids Walk This Way since 2009 in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. The Safe Kids Walk This Way program has been adapted to match the specific conditions of Vietnam to ensure the greatest effectiveness of the project.
AIP Foundation has implemented Walk This Way at 5 schools, reaching 4,000 children and 300 teachers.
