What we do
Thailand

As the Asian country with the highest mortality rate due to traffic fatalities—reporting 85,000 traffic accidents, resulting in 62,000 injuries and 11,000 deaths in 2009—Thailand is a prime setting for AIP Foundation to expand its operations. In 2006, AIP Foundation opened an office in Bangkok and implemented Helmets for Kids programs and public awareness campaigns nationwide.
Public Awareness Education
Michelle Yeoh joined the AIP Foundation to launch the “Head Safe = Helmet On” campaign, targeting Thai motorcycle drivers and passengers. The campaign includes the following components:
- Television commercials
- Outdoor ads
- Online and print communications
- Comic character spokesperson for children
- Celebrity and accident victim endorsements
- Child helmet education events
- Helmet donations
Helmets for Kids
AIP Foundation has hosted Helmets for Kids events at 21 schools in Thailand, adapting the model that has proven successful in Vietnam over the past ten years and donating 12,869 helmets to children.
